THE EXPERT JURY 
Sofieke VAN BILSEN
My name is Sofieke van Bilsen, a Dutch sports photographer based in Munich, Germany.
When I was 16, I picked up a camera for the very first time. At the time, I was living in Shanghai and photography was a great way to showcase my life in China to friends and family back home. In 2020, at the age of 24, I decided to start my professional photography career and combine it with my other passion: sports. My photography can be characterised as visual story telling where I focus on capturing the pure moments left out by traditional media coverage. Meaning I focus on every facet, ranging from the athletes, to its fans and even the location across a broad range of sports like marathon running, football and ice skating to name a few.
My current gear set-up includes the Sony A9, A7riii, and an analogue camera, with lenses varying from primes to zooms.
